Pigu.lt, 220.lv, Kaup24 and Hobbyhall: keeping sold-out products off sale

Sold-out products and products that left the supplier catalog automatically get a quantity of 0 on the Pigu group marketplaces and go back on sale when they return. How it works and what keeps it safe.

Unified Suppliers TeamUnified Suppliers

A shopper orders a product on Pigu.lt, pays, and an hour later learns it is out of stock. The order is cancelled, the shopper is disappointed, and your seller metrics drop. The usual cause is simple: the supplier sold the product out, but the marketplace still shows it in stock.

When you sell supplier products this happens more often than with your own warehouse, because you are not the one changing the stock. That is why on the Pigu group marketplaces (Pigu.lt, 220.lv, Kaup24.ee and Hobbyhall.fi) we take sold-out products off sale automatically.

Why stale stock is expensive

  • Cancelled orders. Every cancellation for a missing product counts against the seller.
  • Seller rating. Marketplaces track the cancellation rate. As it grows, your offers are shown less often.
  • Manual work. Someone has to apologise to the shopper, cancel the order and fix the stock by hand.

When a product is taken off sale

The offer on the Pigu group gets a quantity of 0 when the product can no longer be sold from your catalog:

  • the supplier sold it out;
  • it disappeared from the supplier's catalog;
  • you switched it off by hand;
  • a variant, such as a specific size, ran out;
  • it no longer matches your export conditions, such as a price limit or a required translation.

When the product is back in the supplier's stock, its quantity returns to the marketplace with the next update. Prices and stock refresh every hour.

Safeguards against taking too much off sale

Zeroing stock automatically needs care: an error in a supplier file must not take the whole catalog off sale. So:

  • a product is zeroed only when the system actually checked it and found it cannot be sold. If the supplier file could not be read, nothing is zeroed;
  • if another product that is still for sale carries the same EAN, the offer is left alone;
  • offers you created on the marketplace yourself, unrelated to supplier products, are never touched.

When the marketplace rejects an update

Pigu group offers are updated in batches. If the marketplace rejects a whole batch because of one problem product, the offers are sent again one by one. One error no longer holds up a hundred other products, and you see the problem product on its own.

An Excel file for your PIGU account manager

Sometimes you need to talk to the marketplace's account manager about specific products: why a product card was not created, why an offer was rejected. In the product preview you can export the selected products to Excel with their SKUs and EANs, PIGU category, card submission state, offer statuses and the latest errors, and simply forward the file.

What it means for you

You no longer have to track which supplier products ran out. The marketplace shows what you can actually ship, and products that come back are on sale again without you stepping in. We connect the Pigu group marketplaces and price updates through the API for you. Read more about selling on the Pigu group on the Pigu.lt integration page, or write to us to get started.
